We are honored that you trust us with your health data by using the SimplePeriodTracker app. Menstrual and reproductive health information is deeply personal. That is why we deliberately designed this app with a strict privacy-first, 100% offline architecture. Below, we detail exactly how your data is handled, how it is structured, and how your privacy is protected under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
1. Data Controller
The entity responsible for data processing in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is:
Sick App Developers GmbH Messeler-Park-Straße 85 64291 Darmstadt Germany Email: simpleperiodtracker@sickappdevelopers.com
2. Health and Personal Data (Strictly Local)
Under Article 9 of the GDPR, health data is considered „Special Category Data“ and requires the highest level of protection. To ensure this, all of your health and personal data is stored strictly locally on your device using a secure local database (Hive).
We, the developers, do not collect, process, or have any access to this data. There are no backend servers, and no cloud synchronization.
Cycle Data
- What it is: Calendar dates and numerical integer values representing days.
- Example:
{"lastPeriodStart": "2026-04-15", "cycleLength": 28, "bleedingLength": 5} - Usage: Used locally on your device to calculate and predict your future cycles, ovulation windows, and track your menstrual health over time.
Daily Logs (Health & Symptom Data)
- What it is: Categorical tags, ordinal scales, and free-text strings entered by you.
- Example:
{"flow": "heavy", "symptoms": ["cramps", "headache"], "mood": "tired", "note": "Taking it easy today."} - Usage: Stored exclusively on your device to help you log daily changes, understand your personal health patterns, and monitor physical or emotional symptoms throughout your cycle.
3. Third-Party Services & Analytics (None)
We guarantee that SimplePeriodTracker features zero third-party tracking or data sharing.
- No Analytics: The app does not integrate Google Analytics, Firebase, Facebook SDKs, or any crash reporting tools.
- No Cloud Storage: We do not transmit or back up your sensitive health data to any cloud servers.
- No Accounts: You are not required to create an account, provide an email address, or log in to use the app.
Because the app operates completely offline and without tracking, your sensitive data is entirely isolated from the internet.
4. Your Rights as a Data Subject
Under the GDPR, you have absolute rights regarding your personal data. Because your health data is stored exclusively on your own device and never reaches our servers, you hold total control over exercising these rights:
- Right to Erasure (Art. 17 GDPR): You can instantly and permanently delete all your cycle data, symptom logs, and notes simply by uninstalling the app or clearing the app’s data in your device settings. Once deleted from your device, the data is gone forever, as we hold no backups.
- Right of Access & Rectification (Art. 15 & 16 GDPR): You have full, direct access to view, edit, or delete any specific daily log or cycle date through the app’s interface at any time.
