We are delighted that you are using our Simple Expense Manager app. We believe your financial data is highly sensitive, which is why we built this app with a strict privacy-first, offline architecture. Below, we detail exactly how the app handles data, how it is structured, and how your privacy is protected under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
1. Data Controller

2. Locally Stored Data (Strictly On-Device)
The core functionality of the Simple Expense Manager relies entirely on local storage. We, the developers, have zero access to your financial entries. This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly choose to export it yourself (e.g., via a CSV export feature).
Financial Data (Transactions)
- What it is: Numerical values, calendar dates, optional text strings, and categorical tags stored in a local SQLite database.
- Example:

- What it is: User-selected app configuration variables stored via Shared Preferences.

3. In-App Purchases & Subscriptions (Data Processors)
The only time the app communicates with the internet is to verify if you have purchased our premium tier, „ZenSpend Pro“. For this, we use a third-party service to manage entitlements securely without ever touching your actual payment data.
App User IDs & Purchase Receipts (RevenueCat)
- What it is: Anonymous, auto-generated device strings, digital purchase tokens from Apple/Google, and basic device meta-information (platform type, app version).

4. Analytics, Telemetry, and Ads (None)
We are proud to state that this app does not track you.
- No Analytics or Tracking: We do not use any analytics trackers (such as Google Analytics or Firebase). We do not track user behavior, and the app does not report crash logs or telemetry data back to us.
- No Advertisements: The app does not serve third-party advertisements and does not share any data with advertising brokers.
Because we do not use tracking cookies or behavioral analysis tools, your app experience requires no complex consent management popups (CMP) or tracking opt-outs.
5. Your Rights as a Data Subject
Under the GDPR, you have comprehensive rights regarding your personal data. Because your financial and preference data is stored exclusively on your own device, exercising these rights is completely within your control:
- Right to Erasure (Art. 17 GDPR): You can instantly permanently delete all your financial records, budgets, and preferences simply by uninstalling the app or clearing the app’s data in your device settings. We hold no cloud backups to delete on our end.
- Right of Access & Rectification (Art. 15 & 16 GDPR): You have full, direct access to view and edit all your stored transactions through the app’s interface at any time.
